And just as America finds itself on the precipice on numerous fronts, Starrberry Perzervz, takes the listener on a journey both harrowing and meditative.
At times confrontational yet inviting, this incredible album is just what we all need to kick off yet another year of uncertainty. It’s a peering into the abyss with a kickass soundtrack. It’s the auditory symbol of contradiction, as twinkling keyboards careen into hip-hop-influenced drum beats, guitars drive into the night of shoegazey layers, while vocals float above it all, condemning what we’ve become…and maybe holding out the slightest sliver of hope for something better.
