Louise Baldwin, known under her alias Petals in Sound is a UK-based producer and DJ, fast forging a name for herself in the world of house music. After over a decade of living, working and partying in Southeast London, Petals In Sound relocated to Crosby in Liverpool where she now lives with her young family. Her unique sound has been described as atmospheric house combined with deep electronica. Not one to shy away from experimentation, Petals In Sound new EP Conceptualise' demonstrates her passion for progression and unearthing new sounds.
In October 2020, she released her well-received debut EP 'Palace’ on Miami/ Mexico-based label Boyanza Records, which included remixes by Bruise and Leigh D Oliver, gaining support from the likes of NTS Radio and Sloth Boogie Radio Show. Baldwin has gone on to release singles under DJ Spen’s imprint Unquantize Recordings (‘Dance’) and Manchester-based house label Applique Music (‘Night Flight’), the latter of which peaked at Number 13 in the Beatport ‘Best New Deep House’ chart.
Petals In Sound counts everyone from Daniel Avery to Chaos in the CBD as big influences and that was never more evident that in her 2022 EP 'Morning Light EP'. Released on Berlin’s Dirt Crew Recordings, the 4-track EP has undercurrents of melodic light techno crossed with jazz-packed influences giving essence to striking contrasting sounds.
Petals In Sound makes her debut on Glasgow/Bahrain label Dealt With Records with 'Conceptualise' exclusively on Bandcamp from 13th January 2022.
