I Take a second to see
Is he real or just me
This lonely demon scratching at the walls of My sanity
Hold me as you breathe
tell me what do you see
As I wait for this nightmare to scar me and leave

Can I get the blood from the pen?
Transcribing the truths from deep within the skin,
As I put these scars on the page,
I feel nails scratching at the walls of a cage

I'm searching for something that seems like sanity,
Somewhere far south of this reality,
As I pen this parable and prose
I feel as though me and my demons will come to blows,
Take me to the edge of this solemn madness and regret,
With every cutting criticism this cynical mind cant forget,
Cause I know I'm fucked up beyond all recollection,
And there's not some magical gathering of musical collections
That Can come close to giving me some healthy self-reflection
So excuse me if I fall into the justified depression

I know it's hard to see
Something beyond this scene
But I swear I'm only crazy momentarily
If you take a second to see I'll show you who I can be
When I'm not Chase chasing something like Stability

So hold me close if you seek to heal me,
But know no hands can really give me any healing,
Until I piece together these broken parts
I'll be bleeding from this ruptured heart

I know it must hurt to see me this way,
Fetal position with this unknowable weight,
Crushing me into not half of what I was,
Killing me with the knowledge of what I've done
I know you seek to help me bare the weight,
But I can’t bare the thought of you sharing this fate
I'd rather find a quiet corner to collapse and dissociate,
So until I come to terms with this diminished stability
You'll have to find some peace in knowing that I'm not leaving,
I'm hold tightly on to something that feels like sanity
