Show You by Patrick Monnius

"Show You" is the first single off of my upcoming debut EP After You. It was written during the second semester of my masters studies while I was out of town playing for an opera production. Like many songs, it was born from heartbreak. I had just gone through a rough breakup and the song was an attempt to process some of the emotions and events surrounding the breakup. It was an emotionally charged time and out of it came an emotionally charged song.

As a working professional musician, there are certain obstacles that must be navigated in any relationship. Primarily, living part of your life on the road can make it difficult to open up to someone. When you're often so far away, it can take a certain amount of creativity to communicate and share yourself with people you care about. That's what this song is about! It's about opening up and trying to find ways to be vulnerable and bare your soul to someone, regardless of distance.

Patrick Monnius is an Americana singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio he spent most of his time playing classical music. It wasn’t until his college years that he discovered his love for the fiddle and for sharing his life and experiences through songs. This drove him to move to Nashville and throw himself head first into the world of fiddling and songwriting.
