Rimembranza from Ö-Bits by Antonio D'Amato

The piece is inspired by and built on the poem Remembrance by Percy Bysshe Shelley in the Italian translation. The recited poem has been used in a double form in the composition of the piece. It has been kept unabridged and intelligible, andsubsequently, has undergone fragmentation, time-stretching, transposition andresonant filtering processes, targeted at destructuring the phonemes, rendering themunrecognizable. The artifacts generated by the processes, such as glitches, clicks, and sudden discontinuities, have been highlighted and moved to the foreground.Convolution algorithms involving the use of both synthetic and acoustic samples together with granularized phonemes allowed for the creation of dense sound textures that wrap the unprocessed voice.
