Desert Stardust by Panoramic View Steel Drums

When I start a piece, I barely know what direction the music may take. By the end, I'm in love with sounds, the overall feeling, or the journey through a short passage of sonic bliss through time. I listen again and again. I'm learning that my listeners are out there, even if they haven't found my music yet. This week, I heard unsolicited in-depth feedback about specific sounds and details featured in a previous composition. A listener cared about how the sounds were made and why they sounded new and/or different. This revitalized my artistic existence. It's easy to get lost in a vast universe of sights and sounds. Are you reflecting on how a moment impacts you? A sight? A sound? Will you be more or less aware on a second pass? Pay attention to your experiences. Moments add up, but let's remember to appreciate them one at a time.
