“Taireva,” or “We told you,” is a song that counsels us to heed good advice. If we are sensible and listen well, we will be successful in avoiding the dangers in our path. If we are foolish and refuse to listen, we will believe in dangers only after we have experienced them. When we return from our journey, people will say, “We told you so. Now you have seen for yourself.”

The Pamberi Project takes an innovative approach to producing mbira music recordings, bringing performers much-needed income. Together, we are building more sustainable revenues for mbira musicians and safeguard the precious mbira musical tradition even during times of extreme economic hardship in Zimbabwe.
