Abstrakt Dans by Øyvind Morken

Over the years Øyvind has developed his own unique take on the dance formula, turning inspiration from the innocent and musically open days of the early and mid-nineties into something very singular. Take the best of Bleep techno, Fragile Records, Kenny Larkin’s early productions, The Black Dog and the mother ship, Detroit techno. Mix it with a solid dose of the here and now, a handful of grit, and you start to reach something that resembles Morken’s sound.

Øyvind has by now quite a catalogue under his belt, with several releases on Prins Thomas’ Full Pupp, L.I.E.S., Mysticisms, Snorkel & Snick Snack. He’s also an in demand dj with gigs at Berghain’s The Laboratory, Bassiani in Tbilisi, Koko and Phonox in London, Razzmatazz in Barcelona and festivals like Dekmantel Selectors, Kala and Dimensions.
