QUILLS by Our Burgundy
a bit over a year ago, our burgundy was coming to an end. there was no band and nothing on the horizon. dead in the water. serendipitously, musical and professional opportunities arose and our burgundy was reanimated. with a new passionate and talented crew of musicians and an enthusiastic label, the energies of depletion and frustration were channeled into a furious swan song - this project wasn't going down without a fight. we were new. with spring came disintegration. personal and professional relationships evaporated, leaving us on the brink of uncertainty. how were we going to make the record? do we even have the songs? do we even continue? despite the dismal retrograde of spring we picked ourselves up, went into a ton of debt, and made the record in our living room. part of all of us is in here. this is a record about loss, depression, self deprecation, the light at the end of the tunnel, and coming out the other side. we love you. love yourself. love eachother. make things.
