Thinking off of a ledge
I’ll take my time with this one
Atop the razor’s edge
This I pledge

Take me back to the station
Where I can catch a train
On to another station
Like a moth to the flame

Marching two by two
The soldiers donned dark blue
War crimes as nursery rhymes
Then a coup
Just thinking as I do

Two hundred dollars from the family kitty
A family man at the store
I smiled at him and said you look like a killer
He said “Thank you man, but not anymore.”
“But I once was.”

I picked his brains for a minute
He said he once built a bomb
But now he drives for a living
Patrolling the streets
Looking for meat
Kissing his mom

The men kicked in the door
Without decree, to some degree
