Shadow Introduction

Walkin’ down the road, just the other day
Feeling really good had to get out to play
Hell, yawl it was such a beautiful day
Sun was so warm, on the breeze was a song
Then a voice in my head, said something was wrong

Voice, sounded strange not like mine
Suddenly, I feel I’m not alone in my mind
I just couldn’t shake that feeling, inside of me
Something bad was following me!
Close, right behind. Feeling it’s got to do, with time

Turned to see who or what it might be
Indeed, there’s a shadow following me
Dark translucent, I barely could see
Suns in the wrong place, shouldn’t be there
This apparition seems to float in the air

Looked to see if it was my shadow messing around
But it’s right where it should be, there on the ground
Well, here’s a sure sign I’m losing my mind
‘cause my shadows head turned, looked up at me and said
It lives in your head, think this new shadow wants us both dead

I turned and said shadow what do you want with me
It’s a beautiful day, why won’t you leave me be
It just hovered, then I heard way down deep in my head
That very same strange voice and it said
Now it’s you and me, I want to take you to eternity

I said that’s a hell of a thing to say
You’re a just a shadow, I don’t even know anyway
Whatever I’ve done can’t we just let it go
Call me Glioblastoma, I’m more than just a name
I’m a cancer, from now on we live in your brain

Shadow said, now I follow, but soon I will lead
Listen the orchestras has started, its ’a time to proceed
The time you have left depends on our dance
Try to keep up, learn to lead: You got to know this, were going to bleed.
Better learn just as fast as you can, this dance is called: “The promised land”!

I said maybe we can learn to live together, though never be friends
I said: If I die, so do you don’t you see. Shadow said: Hmm, good try, that’s a new one on me
Were more like an old fashion marriage, that was arranged
We got no choice but to be together, right here in your brain
Taking our vow’s like them at the start, vowing to us ‘till death do we part”
