oneL by Philip Rankin

"oneL" is a document of the progression of my musical thoughts recorded to 4-track tape recorder. More like a journal, than an album it tracks my journey as my palette expanded from a simple mono-voice synthesizer into the world of modular synthesis.

Tracks 1-5, "Side A," were recorded with keyboards, guitars, synthesizers, and guitars pedals that I began acquiring rate since the Summer of'17

Tracks 6-8 "Side B" were recorded after the acquisition of my Modular synth. They are mainly performed using my Make Noise Morphagene, a voltage-controlled sampler as central focus of the compositions. Along with my Make Noise Ø-Coast and Arturia Microbrute.
