Our crew historically makes concept albums, that is a given if you reference our catalog. It just so happens that we are anime nerds at heart. Therefore, this latest creation went towards one of the most well known anime personalities/rivalries ever created. Goku & Vegeta came from a place of comparing and contrasting two kats that are arguably the most powerful characters in the history of anime. The characters are eternally trying to “One up” the other and be the stronger Saiyan (the name of the race that the two belong to). Fact is, they keep getting more powerful the more they fight in a continually progressing series. The more I write, the better a poet I have become. The more Denone composes, the better a producer he becomes. We keep pushing ourselves further into the genre, only to surpass where we have been, thus breaking down our own self-imposed limits of what we felt hiphop should sound like. This forward momentum has carried us from HipHop to Alternative rock to Alternative HipHop and beyond. At the end of the day, we are musicians that will continue to evolve. We couldn’t have possibly gotten this far without our friendly rivalry pushing each other to get better. This Goku & Vegeta project is engaging, even if you aren’t a fan of the series, you can still find something to grasp on to and enjoy the ride. In this day and age of fear, hate and uncertainty, we try to keep it light.
