Thank You by Krishna Bhatnagar

I first met Krishna on my trip to India back in 2018. His debut album, Goat Curry, just turned 2 years old. I met him in a bar where he was drinking lemon juice and eating apples. He was really nice, and we became really good friends. He showed me around India. He's a very happy person. He enjoys the little things in life, like icecream in cows. I asked him why he wasn't making a followup album to Goat Curry, and to quote him "I dont want to. I have a job now, a family, a beautiful wife and a beautiful cow." He just continued to play some club shows and that's it.

In january Krishna messaged me that he wanted to make a second album. He just hired a studio and was ready to record, but than the pandemic hit. Krishna was hit financially and had to take care of his family. The whole pandemic really burnt him out. Earlier this year, I finally convinced him to make a new album. He was still broke at the time. I flew to india and we started a fundraiser for Krishnas second album in his village. Everyone in the village was willing to give him money, and after only 2 weeks he got enough money to record the new album. We hired a bunch of studio time, studio musicians and he got working. And now it's out....

Krishna really matured on this album. The album is 2 times longer than Goat Curry and the songwriting is a lot deeper. You can still hear the happy Krishna on songs such as Apple, Vacation To Dubai and my personal favourite from the album: Ice Cream. But Krishna is not afraid to show his emotional side. After a very not nice encounter with a mean man who called Krishna mean things, he wrote the song that would become "Don't Say Mean Things", an emotional tribute to the 90ś rock greats like Radiohead and Stone Temple Pilots. And let's not forget the last track on the album: Life Is Life; a classic song from the Austrian art rock band Opus. This cover was recorded when the power went out, on Krishnas samsung galaxy S5. Even though there was a blackout, you can still hear happy Krishna.
