Digger had dutifully performed his job for nearly 20 years now. Every day he would leave the safety of the domes and travel into the now lifeless world. With his scooter and computer Digger would scan the ground and the dead earth for any anomalous matter. He had been doing this for so long that he had covered most of the continent, and he was used to finding nothing. Then came the day that he heard an unfamiliar beeping sound.
