Lyrics
Did I start transparent or opaque?
Ornamental, functional or raw?
Unaware, not in my finished state,
Or tumbled by some far off sand and shore.
Chips and Scratches
As I go,
Every moment leaves a mark,
Subtle shades of different hues,
When you’re here you banish dark,
My stained glass frames your light
As it shines through.
If I polish to a mirror shine,
Quickly lost to finger-marks and dust,
No light of my own, but yours – divine.
By light we see, In God we trust.
Chips and Scratches
As I go,
Every moment leaves a mark,
Subtle shades of different hues,
When you’re here you banish dark,
My stained glass frames your light
As it shines through.
Though I paint on my own pattern
Though I’m marked and show some wear,
Every moment leaves a mark,
Subtle shades of different hues,
When you’re here you banish dark,
My stained glass frames your light
As it shines through.
