In March 2023 I fractured my ankle while skydiving in the Himalayas and executing a Triple Lindy and actually I was just ice skating with my son. I had pretty limited mobility for a number of weeks, couldn't drive anywhere, and I was able to devote some focused time to soundmaking. I imagined the wild processes happening underneath my skin and wondered what it might sound like. I started making patches on the synthesizer and recording them, then piecing them together along with processed field recordings and older experimental pieces from the vault. I also took some time while convalescing to do some file management, and was amazed how audio recordings from the past would suddenly present themselves to me, fitting perfectly in place with whatever I was doing, as if by magic. This became a meditative practice, like creative visualization, feeling my way into my own viscera, an attempt to influence but also to LISTEN.

I like robots, 808s, and greasy funk. The music you are enjoying in the present was created in the past and submitted to the future before arriving back here.
