I had a wonderful garden
But I needed a flower to call it home
I dug a hole and planted one
I gave it water everyday
But life had come and left its shit
In my garden and in my soul

The flower opened its petals
But the thing inside had grown grotesque
I tried to hide it behind a wall
I assembled it quickly
I needed the wall to reach the sky
The horrid flower had grown too tall

Had grown too tall
Tall

The wall was beautiful
It was unstoppable
And no one saw
The thing that I had sown
It made my garden home
And I couldn’t help but love it all the same
It wasn’t the one to blame
I had given it everything
And let it grow
And even though I held it dear
I was so consumed with fear
That one day someone would look behind the wall
So I built it higher
I had to build it higher
It couldn’t escape
But life had played a dirty trick
It grew beneath the wall
