Cotton Ghosts by RÄTN
Forged in the mills and backstreets of Rochdale, RÄTN dissolves history into glitch, noise, and fractured rhythm. Cotton Ghosts is industrial folklore of the North. Tracing the battle for survival, the birth of the Co-Operative movement, and the ghosts of cotton, slate, and tallow still embedded in brick and bone.
Mechanical pulse becomes loom-shudder. Granular distortion mutates into dividend division. Eleven tracks work as fragments of a ledger, abstract entries in the sound-archive of resistance and invention.
Cotton Ghosts re-channels the static of 1844 into a present tense of broken beats and spectral textures. Rochdale from the ground up as machine-memory.
