xcerpts from the SATB + harp version of Benjamin Britten’s “There is no rose”, a movement from his Ceremony of Carols. The text is drawn from a medieval poem exhorting the immaculate conception of Mary, and how her own brush with divinity allows the completion the Trinity, the fulfillment of God’s corporeality. Her veneration and place in Christian theology remains a deep divide between Christian sects, but she remains a critical foundational element in Christianity.
Several stems included were scrubbed from music by master disco producer and film scorer Giorgio Moroder
There are many dialogue samples, including one from Jim Jones, he of The People’s Temple and Jonestown mass-suicide.
