This song is about becoming too passive while trying to avoid confrontations. Holding in my feelings really toyed with my brain in a negative way and after avoiding confronation with a few people; namely bosses and people I hired to further my music, I would instead go home and beat myself up mentally. Most of my mental bouts took place in a certain house and after a year of living there I moved to a street called "Sunnyside" and simply having a fresh start alleviated so much stress that was weighing on me. Ironically, Sunnyside sounds pleasant, bright and hopeful so I decided it was the perfect metaphor to describe a pleasant change. This song is about going from a kid with a hair trigger who would knock you out or call you on your shit to being a man who has to take the world's grief because it's the adult thing to do. I am in a bad mood today, so catch me on the "sunnyside" when I am feeling better. That is this track in a nutshell.
