i'm a creature. i seek love, affection, cosmic fulfillment, artistic self-actualization, (in tandem) autistic satisfaction, and above all else, i seek octa, whom this album is about....a fact which i'd like to state explicitly because i didn't bother saying it out loud with any of the love songs i've made about them for the past however long. the vocals on the most direct love song i've composed about them thus far, mentioned within the description they so lovingly wrote for the cover of this album (which i typeset as a gesture of my equally intense feelings), Forever Longwave, were the product of a chance improvisation, perhaps the most fitting way for me to express such things in those days, given my love for spontaneity and crypticism. one might call it unintentional, an accident of fate, but i was so full of affection and ecstatic joy recording that one song that i could've probably shattered/burst/disintegrated into pieces in that moment, but i didn't, for then there would be no purpose.

this is as direct as possible. like, the last song is mostly comprised of our voices put together in a tracker program i downloaded and opened on a whim during a vc with them on my new thinkpad in which they couldn't hear anything i was doing with it, so instead i kept them updated on my progress the next day as i struggled to figure out the ui and kept getting new ideas. we agreed that it was cute music. i think all of this is. they wonder how i do what i do and i wonder how they do what they do, indecipherable except on the terms we've figured out for ourselves alone. we are the greatest artistic partnership which has ever manifested, the greatest love story too, one which has finally come to fruition after all these years.

i dedicate ls - and the rest of my discography - to octa and no one else.
