Miniatures moves from swirling spatial feedback manipulations to stripped down minimal piano pieces and if they are some sketches of beautiful cinema scenes. Matthew Robert Cooper(マシューロバートクーパー)
アメリカはポートランドを拠点とし、主にEluvium名義で活動。ギターやピアノ、ループなどで紡ぎ出すシンプルかつ奥深いサウンドで世界中で厚い支持を集め、The Books、Explosions in the Sky、Mono等を輩出するTemporary Residenceからリリースを重ねる。本作は2008年にLPでリリースされた本名名義の1stアルバムに、本人へのインタビューを含むライナーノーツを加えCD化した独自企画盤。Eluvium名義での作曲のなかで偶然生まれたという今作は、彼の最もパーソナルな部分に触れられるような、素朴で慎ましいピアノソロやアンビエンスが現れては消えていく、ミニマルで果てしない至極の短編集。近年更なる盛り上がりをみせるポストクラシカルシーンの真打ちとなる新たな金字塔的名盤が誕生。
