In 1994, Squaresoft released a role-playing game that came to define a generation: Final Fantasy VI. While it offered a deep, customizable combat system, its vast, complex narrative, unforgettable cast, and instantly classic soundtrack struck fans more than anything; The Returners, the siege of Doma at the hands of Kefka, the enslavement of the Espers, the opera scene, the (spoiler alert) complete destruction of the world as a mid-way plot point... It was an epic on the grandest scale—accompanied by Nobuo Uematsu’s broadest and most impassioned body of music yet. Terra’s Theme. Searching for Friends. Kids Run Through the City. Kefka’s Theme. These are just a selection from one of the most lauded soundtracks in gaming history, presented on Natsukashii’s Esperwave.

In this follow up to the remarkably successful Manawave, Natsukashii re-interprets a baker’s dozen of Uematsu’s masterful compositions, infusing a genre-bending mix of character, grit, and groove. In yet another serendipitous unity, original Final Fantasy VI artist Yoshitaka Amano also provides an absolutely stunning piece for the cover.

Pushing creative interpretation even further, Esperwave is a modern collection of classic favorites like you’ve never heard them before.

Esperwave comes with a tip-on jacket, a holographic obi-strip, and is presented on three color variants via Channel 3 Records:

As a special thank you, the first 500 units sold will include a free flexi-disc containing a bonus track. This bonus track is exclusive to the flexi and will not be shared digitally.

Once again giving credence to the sincerity of Natsukashii's music, legendary artist Yoshitaka Amano provided his talents to create the stunning cover art for Esperwave. Amano's art will be available to purchase as a giclee 24"x32" print. Each print will be numbered and created with only the highest-quality archival inks and materials.

The print is strictly limited to 250 units, never to be printed again.

Esperwave (vinyl) will be available for purchase on Friday, August 13th at 1PM EST / 10 AM PST, one hour before the print. Anticipated delivery of the vinyl is Q2 2022.

Amano's 24"x32" print will be available for purchase on Friday, August 13th at 2PM EST / 11 AM PST. Shipping cannot be combined with any other item. The print is expected to ship within 5 weeks.
