These are experimental solo pedal steel guitar recordings captured inside a decommissioned Atlas F missile silo site near Wilson, Kansas, on July 24, 2021. All reverberations occurred naturally within the subterranean chambers of the site.

Nate Hofer is a husband, father, musician, and visual artist/designer. Drawing on his Midwestern upbringing during the Cold War in the 1980s, he creates documentary aerial photographs and solo ambient performance sound pieces featuring the pedal steel guitar, inspired by themes of peacemaking and nuclear weapons non-proliferation.
