(Acts 17:23-34)

As I walked along I looked at all
your objects on display
in marble, carved by history
museum of deities

And I found an altar that described
'An unknown god' it was inscribed
Now i shall tell you of an unnamed God

The Unknown God
who made the nations
and from one man
he chose their times and places
That we might seek
and perhaps find him
And come to know
an unknown God

This God I speak of
made the world
and every living thing
He does not live in temples built
by hands or plans of men

And the divine is not like gold
or silver or a precious stone
Revealed himself through
one man raised from death

The Unknown God
who made the nations

That we might seek
and perhaps find him

an unknown God

Though he is not far
from each of us
for in him we live
and move and exist and breathe
in the words of ancient poets

We are his own offspring
