It was Monday night & I was on my way out for my usual trip to DC10.
The vibe was strong but, it felt like anything that could have gone wrong did go wrong.
I had lost my card, ran out of fuel, my car battery went flat, my ticket was inside the club & I had lost all communication with the peeps who had it, it was like I wasn't supposed to go, I left my apartment at 9pm & after 5 hours of obstacles, I refused to give up so I sat in the DC10 car park in my car at 2am making music on my laptop, determined to come away with something...
Ping, my phone received a message: 'Iv sorted you, list mate, just go to the door'. (Steve Hogan, I'm forever grateful)
I was so happy, I packed my laptop in the boot & off I went...
There's nothing quite like a solo mission to the dance, I just love it!
I was in the club floating & settling into the vibe, Mya Jane Coles was playing in the main room & the vibe was soooo strong.
I had a vision on the dancefloor that my music will be played in DC10 over this summer & I will 1 day play here too. I tweeted it to put it out there...
The night flowed & I wandered around the club to soak up more of the vibe, but, by this time I was getting tired & was contemplating some food & rest as I had a longggg day ahead of me...
In the terrace I wasn't fully feeling it, so I decided to do another lap & see if I felt to make a move.
I went to the garden, the messy convo's I was hearing & the groups of friends all having a wonderful time energized me.
After a lap of the garden I walked into the main room:
Ohh this is a vibe, I glanced at the set times on the door, Dennis Sulta was playing.
Walking in a little more I was fully in the groove!
"Fuck this is a tune...
I know this tune, what is it???...
What?, Fuck! No Way........"
"This is mine & Marc Spence's tune!!!!!"
I scrambled for my phone & filmed the moment in utter disbelief, it was actually going off, "what the fuck hahah wow, ok!"
One of the moments that will live with me forever!
I was FULLY gassed at this point, for me a feeling no drug has ever matched, butterflies, euphoria, elation...
10 min's after, fully charged, I wanted to capture the moment & inspiration & put it in a tune.
I wanted to create something that would have fit the moment on that dancefloor on the night...
