Cloudhopping from Conform!! by MRDRCAT
I wanted to do arps, but I wanted 'em smooth. Since the M8 is monophonic, I ate up 4 of the 8 available tracks on alternating notes for each of the arp patterns to give time for the notes to decay before they were retriggered. It was comical listening to them all choking each other during my first attempt.
Anyway, since you can't just have arps, I added the plucked melody using one of my few FM synth success stories - a patch I called PluckyDucky that appears in a few tracks at this point. I wanted to keep it pretty simple and straightforward, since the arps stay pretty busy throughout.
Updated for this album with some EQing and a little de-sharpening of the higher frequencies.
