For quite some time, I've -- more often than not -- been recording guitar in stereo. But after awhile, I noticed something; that the guitar track would sound 'full' in stereo, but in mono, the guitar would oftentimes 'disappear'. So, it seems like certain pedals are causing 'phase unalignment', and lately I've been attempting to remedy this 'mono problem' in the mix.

But, with this album, around 2 or 3 songs into it, I gave up on that. This was one set of guitar files where i could not seem to 'phase align' the two sides, to get it to sound 'louder' in mono.

So that's a long way of saying, this album should really be listened to, in stereo.

'And why does it matter, stereo versus mono?' you might ask. Well, when someone listens on their phone speaker, a lot of my recordings will probably have the guitar 'drop out' to varying degrees.

BTW, I highly recommend doing part of the overall mixing at least, in mono. It really gives you an idea of what is going on, if people listen on their phone speaker, or if a song eventually makes its way onto a 'club (mono) p.a.', etc. Headphones are great, but there could very well be mono listening along the way..
