In March I quit my job and took a 10 day excursion just driving west. My ultimate goal was Joshua Tree National Park, but I stopped at multiple places along the way, including hitting Moab on my way out and back. I climbed across the west and the desert, and on each of these types of road trip excursions I had a tendency to write a song that really encapsulated where I was at in life at that moment, or something that told more of a story. This time I tried forcing that perhaps a little much, and that's how I ended up with Highline Hokey (Moab2). I recorded all 3 of these songs on a BLM campground right out the back of my car just outside of the Fruitbowl in Utah. Immediately after recording this, a Subaru Baja came tearing down the road right up to my campsite, and that's where the story encapsulated in my song Oh Moab (coming on the Tiny Town EP) begins...
Morning Honey exists somewhere between mountain folk, depressingly hopeful singer/songwriter material, but is always the ideal soundtrack to make breakfast to.
