Orison by Moonwood

"Orison (translation: "The Source" also "a prayer") was recorded 2014-2015-ish during the 12 month vinyl pressing delay of the River Ghosts album. During that limbo I started looking backwards. Moonwood had been a solo, acoustic-based instrumental folk project before morphing into a full-fledged four-piece space-rock jam band in early 2013. On some semi-subconscious level, I wanted to get back to what I'd felt had really coalesced on my 2011 album River Ghosts. I wanted to dig inside and get back to "the source" so to speak. These sounds came out of that inward journey, back to the River to revisit those Ghosts. They were originally released under the name BABEL in 2016 but they're really ‘Moonwood’ tracks at heart."
