Endless Sunlight by Moonsign

This album was recorded during artist residencies in Finland in June 2017.

Rural Finland is a place of many lakes and much solitude. In summer, the sun doesn't set until midnight. It never really sets. As we completed separate residencies – Bastian at Haihatus in Joutsa, Carlin at Arteles – we each fell into the silence of the forest and yearned to be softer, gentler beings. More like reflected clouds on the surface of a still lake.

The vocals for these songs were recorded inside an old commentator's box overlooking a field at Haihatus. bastian improvised, recording in one take over music that carlin had composed at Arteles. It was almost midnight on the day before carlin's birthday. A hare bounded through the grass and the moon rose over the forest. These songs are some of the most ambient, intimate sounds we've recorded. We hope you enjoy their quietness.
