After three years of sprawled dissemination we felt like coming home. Teratology is a big band with no fixed members, a loosely organized collective meant to catch the sound of our present form as a label with the help of Monstres par Excès family members. The more the better. This first installment was recorded as a double stereo live take in October 2009, during the MPE Attack! festival, featuring Junky from Torturing Nurse, Olaf Hochherz, 骏园, G. and 卖卖. We promise not to sound like this anymore: sinewy no-jazz themes de-deconstructed and stretched over bursts of trudging noisy guitars, backed by spastic drumming and topped by micro-laptop impulses. Fake impro for no audience.
We were a label. We published experimental and underground music between 2007 and 2017.
We did believe that the foremost feature of experimentation is excess, and hence our name: surplus, garbage, noise that generates unnecessary but productive forms.
We inhabited the underground with small-scale, limited editions, and we strove to channel all profit into our next batch of high-quality releases.
