Still webbed to the screen
I get handed the script for the next scene
A boy who just turned sixteen
Gets crushed by another machine

I steer right into it
Brace myself for the impact
A sign of hesitation
Then I press execute

I hear the sound of every single bone breaking
I press the palms of my hands up against my ears
I see the blood splatter from every single vein
I shut my eyes, I'm shaking

As I wipe away a drop of sympathy
