we have been launched
we have been set free
it's the hands of our fathers we now leave
and in our time
seconds are as weeks
and so we fly very slowly like air mail
and our engines
there are twenty-four of them
as we sit on the lower wings they cry above
and our propellers
turn very slowly
but unlike before they will last forever
over the bed
and out through the door
we have successfully navigated
astounded eyes
go opening after us
as we fly into a new universe

When keyboard player/vocalist Ken Baird had written some music which seemed to require more collaborative arrangements than usual, he asked drummer Chris Lamont and Bassist Dino Verginella if they’d be willing to be a part of “Monarch Trail”. John Mamone, Kelly Kereliuk and Steve Cochrane
expand the guitar side of the band.Two albums now completed, the third album is due soon!
