Gastro Forestry by moff skellington
It seems unthinkable/impossible/unfathomable but we approach our 73rd release with Moff Skellington on August 16th with his new album "Gastro Forestry".
Moff's chosen musical form is that of Edoddi, a species of folk music which celebrates the very individual and often skewed perceptions of the world engendered by modern life. Edoddi provides a refreshing alternative to the prescriptions and formulas of mainstream and "alternative" folk music. Edoddi philosophy: nothing is arbitrary. Make it up as you go along, it's bound to be authentic!
There is a significantly different "feel" to the sound of Eddodi on this release.
We have detected a new phase of the development of Moff's work - it feels more cinematic in many respects but at the same time there is a warmth to it which suggests a closer relationship with the listener. The use of percussion is particularly effective.
Therefore there are new aspects to Eddodi to hear. In saying this of course the lyrical content retains its' effortless mystery and wonder, but also in the same way has a new feel to it. A conundrum in many respects.
Moff says he is entering his singer-songwriter phase.

Moff invited his friend FRANKSY to do the art on this one - a major change in the music meant it seemed logical therefore to use his art instead of Moff's as we usually do - we are entering new areas of aural journeying. Different sound = Different Art.
