VALHALLA by Schwester
This album is by the band Schwester, the sister duo of Danah and Jessica McCollum. The songs were written between 2014-2019 and recorded in 2020 when the sisters spent some time living off grid together. Some songs are the first songs they ever wrote as young musicians, many of the songs are a direct response and processing of the passing of their father Dane. This is Jess and Danah's first recorded album as Schwester.
The name Valhalla is a great hall in Norse Mythology where the souls of heroes slain in battle are received, a place of honour, glory, and happiness. Located somewhere in heaven, Valhalla is an afterlife.
This album is dedicated in loving memory to our Dad : Robert Dane McCollum and to our family.
