did you walk outside,

the clouds were stacked up
dishwater gray and blue
but in the distance an orange sun was breaking through.
i've been thinking about you.

which is really just to say i wonder if you think of me
i'm not a narcissist but i guess i've got that tendency
like how the cloud is just the way to bring the water from the sea
and rain it down on the seed
that's what you were to me

now i've got that autumn feeling coming over me again

i remember that night i sprained my knee
and you brought me a cup of tea
we watched the debate on tv
and though the world has gone to shit
there's no place that i'd rather be
than back there with you next to me

it wasn't until i heard the news and started listening to the silver jews
burning my old notebooks and locking myself in my room
staying up for three days just listening to random rules
yeah i've got that sickness too

now i've got that autumn feeling coming over me again
