Mission to Mars was first formed as a 1 off recording project with college chums David Baker and Keith Ash. After a 2 year stint playing lead in SF's Buddhakowski, PJ Golden (also known as Philip) recorded a solo M2M record in 2001 before moving up to Portland, OR, and forming a real version of the band. The 2005 finale was again a solo effort, so called PJ Golden instead of M2M
