Shudder by Milk Bar Gang

Move over 'concept album'. Milk Bar Gang introduce you to the new (or perhaps not so new) concept of 'concept EP'! The title of which is "SHUDDER". SHUDDER is an expression of Milk Bar Gang's reaction to how they feel about contemporary life as the dark spectre of toxic masculinity and patriarchal dominance looms larger and larger. A shudder is a visceral reaction of horror and revulsion. A shudder is also related to sexual pleasure and other primal sensations or movements ie in birth and death. An existential cry.
The EP starts with "The Accident", the lottery of birth. "Beauty Life" encapsulates enculturation and disillusionment. "I want control" is an ambiguous expression of individual freedom, and self. The final track "Requiem" is a more wide focused view of life's inevitable finality. If this sounds all very intellectual, then good. If it sounds like a load of arty farty nonsense, then good too! We peddle in arty farty nonsense.
Shudder was recorded over late 2023 and early 2024 with three of the tracks released as singles during the past 12 months.

Naarm Artrock band Milk Bar Gang began recording songs and videos in their living room in 2021. Artist and Ballet Dancer Bianca Cao features on vocals, with performer writer Felix Chapple (Beach Chromers, Phoenix/Weneger) on Keyboards and guitar.
Inspired by Bowie,Sparks,New Wave, Post Punk, they follow an eclectic musical path.
