Fly from Reflections by Mike Gilbar
Another early 1980s song written after a late night of playing a club, so the lyrics were a bit mystical (foggy brain syndrome). The intro with choral aahs was added years later pretty much just to lengthen the tune. The three chord start to the verses was the foundation of the song and kind of sets the stage for the last section of each verse, building to the next verse. I used to have a recurring dream of being able to fly, which is where the lyrics came from. I think the song has the feel of taking flight.

Mike Gilbar, a sixth generation Vermonter, is a retired CFO who spent the 1970s through the 80s playing in several weekend bands before turning to folk music. In the late 1990s when his day job took up more time, he ended performing in public and now, in retirement, has taken up where he left off: recording songs written in his early years along with newer material.
