Barrier by Mike Dickson
A very mysterious one, this.
This is actually an album about a metaphor for a type of artistic block that I always seem to get these days when I am about a third of the way through anything and have to bash on with whatever I am doing. Maybe the best way to overcome it is to write about it.
Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. But it does give a sense of purpose and lets what should have happened happen naturally. Existentialism was always a help to some bands who didn't know what to write about, other than their own predicament. So I am giving it a try now as well. Oddly, it seems to work.
