Somos Familia by D'FunK

This album has been created with music produced from my greatest inspirations, my children!

I started creating some of the tracks on this album when my son was born in 2013. He and my daughter give me so much inspiration and the want to dig deep and to produce something that I and of course they would be proud of.

My idea back then wasn't to produce an album but to work on my sound, a sound I could call or maybe even people would notice as being mine.

Recently I have had some extra time, so I have gone back to some older tracks and listened to them again. Whilst listening back it was apparent to me that there was a similarity in the sound design and feeling of some of them.

The tracks which I created during a time of, lets say uncertainty, seemed to flow with the older tracks which I had created in 2013. Maybe the emotions made apparent during the pandemic gave me inspiration to create something positive just like the emotions I have when I look at my kids, the desire to create something positive for their future.

So I compiled a list of tracks and with some help fom Mark at Mighty Force, we have created my album ''Somos Familia"

Something positive created during such amazing times in my life and also times that were often "very strange"

Mark, thank you for your help and trust in my music. It's been a while since we initially spoke but its an honour to be now putting this out to the universe on Mighty Force.

I dedicate this record to my whole family (near and far), my closest friends (you know who you are) and especially my littlest sister (DEP).

Mighty Force was a record shop and label based in Exeter from 1990-95 when the label moved operations to London until 1999. After a 20 year hiatus, the label began releasing music again in July 2019. We just release music we think is good.
