Like taxes
Like night
Silos of vanity will fall

Like war
Like famine
Like death
Groupthink will take us all

When advisers play follow the leader
When loyalty means more than truth
Where diversity and division are hidden
Where the plan is greater than proof

Their folly makes foolish decisions
Their all too afraid to admit
all of them had their doubts
But we’re all too afraid to resist

A train must follow its tracks
A stone will roll down a hill
Prejudice breeds conceit
Always was, Always would, Always will

This is the fall of a nation
This is the fatal mistake
It takes a village to raise a child
It takes diversity to make us great

You are what you eat,
You believe what you see,
You only think what you hear.

In your bubble of thought,
You teach what your taught,
Your echo speaks loud and clear

If all that you value is loyalty
you will only hear your own words
If your fear suppresses diversity
New options cannot be heard

We need the devil to advocate
We need the voice of dissent
They help us to test our assumptions
They help us to reinvent

Diversity equity inclusion
Speak that we listen to all
This is the meaning of greatness
And greatness gives all of us more
