Uncertainty: Music for drums and synthesizers
This album is a product of the isolation of 2020. It took the form you hear here organically, after much experimentation and an epiphany to employ synthesizers to play the parts that would usually have been played by living, breathing musicians—something I never would have considered doing under “normal” circumstances. The writing here is an extension of my 2018 release “Plutonium.” Some of the ideas for the music here developed during the build-up to that record, but I cultivated them further and reimagined them for this context. The more I worked with the synthesis for this record, the farther away I got from something that could be realized by other humans, and the more I embraced the eccentricity and plasticity that this domain could provide.

Michael Brenneis aspires to develop his own idiosyncratic cosmology. He resides in Madison, Wisconsin.
