Body Control by Mhenwhar Huws
Mhenwhar Huws are an improvising/spontaneous composition string and percussion quartet (Rafe Fitzpatrick - violin, John Magill - viola & electronics, Alistair Quietsch - double bass & electronics, Mikey Truswell - drums & percussion) from Glasgow, Scotland who perform both amplified and acoustically.
The album Body Control, recorded in Kinningpark Complex in Glasgow by Stevie Jones, January 2018, captures our musical discussion and practice at that time - veering away from the more traditional sounds expected of our instruments to a questioning and discovery of other sonic expressions via extended acoustic techniques or electronics. incorporating elements of ambient drone, noise, spontaneous melody, harmony and dissonance.
