TELE VISION by Crazy Compass & The Black Diamond Train
Russian-American project, joint work of The Black Diamond Train (Michael VanderMallie – music) and Crazy Compass (Nata Boundariver – art, vocal, poetry). The publication includes a book of poems in Russian with English translations and CD with a recording of these poems set to music. The painting for the track Wind became the cover of the album and the basis for its design.
The participants of the collaboration never saw each other in reality, but managed to find a common language and record some very strong tracks, matured from 2017 to 2020. Stunning in terms of innovation and beauty experiments with sound, duration, spatial effects, unusual rhythms, field recordings, work with vocals, which became a kind of "glass bead game", telepathic coincidences accompanying the process – everything justifies the name of the release: vision from a distance... vision through time and space.
