NACTMAHR
Old habits die hard for the Wizards. While Merlin was in full swing practicing as a regular band, Carter and I decided to make a concept album using our classic and original method of making music. This time it was to be a Atmospheric Noise album called Nactmahr. This release was alot of fun, we sat down with a piano and guitar and I recorded Carter noodling around. I then took the various tracks, added some ambience via a Kaossilator and recorded some old record samples and other various clips I felt fit the mood we were going for. The result is a disorienting, dark and cold album. Still to this day one of my favorites releases.
After it was wiped off of Bandcamp it ended up getting a second life being used on stage before we would play.
We ripped it to a tape, and would play it off of an old cassette player mic'd up. We did this well after we were playing self titled songs.

2012 Merlin was alot different than 2022 Merlin. We had little to no instruments to our name... a Line 6 Amp, Rock Band Drums, a Kaossilator, old beat up guitars and a Casio Keyboard from the 90s. We never knew what kind of project we were starting so we simply made weird ass music. Maybe it was to out weird the previous song. Maybe its because we went mad with magic we couldn't handle. Whatever it is, the long deleted albums have finally made the light of day, on this the 10th anniversary of the band.
Can a modern era Merlin fan handle old school Merlin? You be the judge of that
