I was commissioned to be part of an animated project for my older sister's final project based on Hmong fashion, "Hushed". The project was a fashion show in which it's a combination of traditional Hmong clothing with street fashion while also telling the story of our people and the struggles we have gone through. During the creation, I have also composed two songs, one that was used for the animated short I worked on with a good friend of mine and another which would be used for the catwalk segment of the show (sadly due to covid, everything was digital so the ending was more of us setting up her clothes on a mannequin).
I choose to release these songs specifically in the middle of November since that is usually when the Hmong New Year festivals usually start (Especially the big one that usually happens at the RiverCenter in St.Paul, which is the one I usually go to). Yet, due to COVID, these festivals have shifted to the beginning of January. Even so, I just said screw it I'll release it in November.
Hope you enjoy!!! Shout out to all my Hmong People!!!
Special thanks to Pakou Vang and Lilfrightz for working with me on this amazing project!!! Pakou Vang doesn't really have any major social media platforms yet but will update it once she does.
