Blindfold by MC Woes
In 2017 I was invited to be a speaker at Mondays at the mission which takes place at the Union rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles. Mondays at the mission is a career and life skills building class for homeless children and teenagers. I had an opportunity to share my life story with those kids and to perform my music for them. The program director Justine Sophia suggested that I write a song about the homeless epidemic and it’s affect on the children. After recording the main vocals for the track with my engineer EQ we took the raw vocals to 6blocc so that he could compose a beat around the lyrics. Artist Ruby Chase provided her amazing vocals for the hook, which we blended with the Children of Project Blindfold to complete the essence of the song. After a vigorous campaign a music video was filmed to visually tell this story through expression and dance. On May 16th the Project Blindfold Music Video will premier on KCAL 9 as part of a made for tv live event. This song and that music video are a beautiful representation of a grassroots community movement connecting resources and opportunity to families and youth experiencing homelessness.
